Birgitta Lund is a Danish photographer based in Copenhagen, Denmark. She studied at the International Center of Photography in New York where she subsequently lived and worked for 18 years. Her work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States and Europe, is held in collections, and has been published in various International magazines. In Transit (2005), a personal and geopolitical reflection on the time she left the United States for Europe, was awarded the HSBC Prize by Fondation HSBC pour la Photographie/Paris, Foghdals Photographer Award/Copenhagen, and a monograph was published by Actes Sud/Arles. In addition, the Danish foundation Bikubenfonden purchased the entire series for their Academic Guest House in New York. The Garden (2013), a photographic tale that uses Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen as an allegory, was published by Space Poetry/Copenhagen. Birgitta Lund has been a member of POC Project Europe since 2006.
